PEOPLE WITH TALENT.

Ottawa Magazine had asked me to portrait different individuals for the Fall issue that's out now. Every so often, I tried to freshen up my pics. Shooting horizontal a little more often, bringing flash outside, or just going crazy with fluorescent tubing. Sometimes I get the chance to do all three on the same gig.

TREASURE HUNT.

I needed to find a photo that I did last winter. Well trying to find an old film photo in my house is like finding a banana in a monkey cage. Not sure if that makes sense although I do like monkeys very much now wonder how it would to spend a couple days...

So this is me trying to organize film. Finding what I want to scan in the next week, what should be properly showed online, if anything is worth showing in an exhibition.

NEED MORE PHOTOS.

Realized this morning that I'm in another group show on the weekend. Good timing cause I borrowed my friends scanner, much appreciated. Here's something I found from a trip to NYC this last May. Photos done during a coffee break at about 7am after driving all night.

2 SHOWS BETTER THAN 1

Somehow I manage to book two jobs, two groups shows and a diner in the same night. Nothing like a little excitement on a Friday. So if your curious, you better get your foot moving tonight.

I have a piece up in the DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS at La Petite Mort. They used my photo for the poster and been hoping to put another photo in the show, just because it's fresh and I really like it. I know the beach line is a little off, but I like how it adds to the awkwardness of the tourist realizing Cavendish waters are dreadfully cold on a cloudy day.

Second show was put together by Daniel Martelock, great artist have his paintings at my house. TRASH: REVISITED was his idea, he gathered garbage and randomly distributed it amongst a diverse group of artist. I got a hot plate and well this is what I produced.

A little in a rush this morning. I'll be blogging about the light box later, cause it's pretty cool. Got great help from Dave Andrews and Andrew O'Malley to piece together, most about those dudes too.

NICO AND GUEN.

Started working the scanner last night, which means there will be numerous post in the next couple of weeks. I really wanted to show these photos even though I haven't taken the time to clean the film and do any post on them yet. My tip of the week is use freshly loaded film holders or carefully store your holder in a safe location...just sayin'

THE BIG MOVE.

Taking a break from doing post production...what this week looks like...to talk to mom. My folks are moving to French for a couple of years. Mom will be working at Vimy ridge and living in Aras. They're pretty excited as dad has always talked about living in France, that and owning a Dodge Caravan but I digress. This will also mean a visit during Christmas time and obviously new personal work. Speaking of, I have a scanner for a couple of weeks thanks to a good friend. But for now here's a few snaps from mom.

Seems mom likes to frame images like me, especially on the second one.

AIN'T NO SMALL FRY.

We're wrapping up the new posters and ads for Ottawa International Animation Festival this week, images will follow soonish with lay-out proper props to the editors and all.

SMALL FRY.

I was looking through old photos I had on my phone and remembered I wanted to share this ad I found at the Mall. I think it's a beautiful portrait and great ad. It's great to have a comedian that has enough sense of humour to pose for a campaign like this (realizing, it could totally be a money). Also, NYF offers a Coleman Facebook app to play around.

GUERILLA ISSUE 21.

About a month a set-up to do some portraits at a rock concert. KISS was in town, and I figured there would be something interesting to shoot. Called up my buddy (and assistant) Alex Deszcz and said wanna do something fun? He said yes.

Showed the pics to Tony Martins at Guerilla Magazine and he said, anybody seen them yet? I said no and then Tony told me to keep it that way, cause they're going to be in the 5th year Anniversary Issue.

Sky kept changes while we were shooting, and they split in two different looking photos.

Then darker clouds showed up before the rain.

Big party is tonight!!!!! Be sure to check it out at Ottawa Art Gallery. LINK
There's going to be an art auction during the show, so I prep a brand spanking new photo shot on Sunday during Pride Week.
